charming stay
nice decor walk in shower nice bar
the room decor was lovely! i enjoyed the walk in shower in the bathroom. the hotel has good facilities. the bar area offered a nice space to relax after a day of exploring.
the hotel room lacked a teaspoon though i reported it, this was not resolved .

the staff was friendly and courteous. they were also very helpful with directions and recommendations. i found the service to be attentive and quick. this contributed to a smooth and enjoyable stay.

Excellent Stay in Historic Building
art nouveau building quiet room excellent service
The building features genuine Art Nouveau design with elegant details. Our room faced the trees behind the hotel and it was very quiet. The shower offered dual options, and everything was super clean. Staff members was to enjoy their jobs, so service was excellent.
We found the absence of a readily available cocktail menu at the bar slightly inconvenient. There was no black currant cordial either. Some options would have been nice.

The location is good with Micklegate within a ten-minute walk. There are pubs, a convenience store, a cinema, the train station and also restaurants nearby. It is easy to walk to many attractions.

The room was comfortable with a dual option shower. The room interior design was superb. Furnishings throughout are of high quality. The room was super clean and quiet.

The hotel has a terrace with outdoor seating. Decor from the original panelling and staircase adds to the charm. Air conditioning worked very well. This was especially appreciated during the hot weather we experienced.

Breakfast offered plentiful options. Gluten-free options were available. The hotel picked fresh mint from the garden for drinks on the terrace. The breakfast set us up well for sightseeing each day.

The staff was helpful. My room had a comfortable chair and a table. I found the bed comfortable. Breakfast included high-quality ingredients such as a large flat mushroom and scrambled egg.
My room lacked drawers. There was only a small wardrobe. All my belongings had to stay in my cases, except for hanging clothes. The water pipes made banging sounds. These sounds woke me up every morning.
